Owner Kellyn Jones Expands Salon and Staff; Brings on Lead Stylist and Educator Maxwell Maisano, Studio Stylist Marty Horn and Protégé Stylist Rachel Last, All While Creating a Beautiful, Larger and Newly Rebranded Salon on Hanover Street
Boston, Mass. (May 21, 2019) – KJ Hair Studio, a friendly boutique salon in the historic North End of Boston, is proud to be a female owned and run small business. Kellyn Jones, owner of KJ Hair Studio, is excited to announce the salon’s expansion and rebranding. Formerly known as Bow & Arrow Collective for the first four years in business, the salon went through ownership and staff changes in 2018 and expanded from 300 square feet to 600 square feet by renovating the space next to it at 215 Hanover Street – Suite 201 and 202. Kellyn Jones, previous co-owner and now sole owner of KJ Hair Studio, led a redesign of the space to focus on making the full-service hair salon function in an exceptional way for the staff, while also creating a welcoming and beautiful space for clients.
KJ Hair Studio is celebrating its five-year anniversary as a female owned and run business on May 28, 2019.
The salon specializes in balayage, hair painting, and custom hair color services that feature the latest trends and techniques. It offers a truly personalized, one of a kind experience and its staff is 100% committed to exceptional service, creativity, and continued education.
“Our studio was founded on the belief of paying it forward, giving back to the community, empowering individuals, and the concept that beauty is more than skin deep,” said Owner, Lead Stylist and Educator Kellyn Jones. “I opened the salon to bring something different to the beauty industry. A place that empowers others to make mindful decisions on their beauty care routine while offering natural alternatives. Good relationships are built here and that goes for the relationships between our staff members as well. We are a team and we help each other grow, both personally and professionally.”
KJ Hair Studio features a retail space in the salon with products from Davines, Hairstory, and Reverie. Clients also can purchase products that fit in perfectly with the KJ Hair Studio brand like soy-based candles, essential oils, sage and crystals, to name a few.
“In addition to the products and services we offer, we also love customizing the experience for our clients ‘beyond the chair’ so we are so proud and excited to also now offer custom color conditioners. An idea brought to me by Max and based on each client’s unique color, hair texture and cut, we literally mix a custom conditioner on-site at the salon during the client’s visit so that they know they will be using the best product for them to maintain the look they love,” added Jones.
The public is invited to attend the Five Year Anniversary Party and Reopening of KJ Hair Studio on June 13, 6:00-8:00pm at 215 Hanover Street, Suite 201-202.
